LANDRUM, S.C. — Raymond A. Bowie, 83, of 100 Clarice Circle, Landrum, S.C., died on Friday, Oct. 8, at White Oak Manor in Tryon, N.C.

A native of Lisbon, he was the son of the late Stanford and Gladys (Pillsbury) Bowie.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Seabees. He retired from Milliken and Co., Abbeville Plant, after 32 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Ancient York Masonic Lodge No. 155 of Lisbon Falls and a member of the Landrum Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Stevens Bowie; two daughters, Diane Smith of Landrum, S.C., and Deena Campbell (James) of Rock Hill, S.C.; and a son, David Bowie (Stefanie) of Bristol, Va. He is also survived by six grandsons, Michael and Matthew Bradley, Joshua Bowie, Jeremy Campbell, Addam Bowie and Robert Cumbow; a granddaughter, Nicole Campbell; three great-granddaughters; and two nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Milton Bowie of Lisbon Falls.
