SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford County 4-H Leaders Association will have its annual Take-A-Chance Auction on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the auction will start at 6 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available.
There will be hundreds of items including homemade mittens, hats, Christmas tree skirts, wall hangings and slipper socks; gift certificates from local businesses; and a dollar table.
The money raised will be used to provide 4-H youth development opportunities to young people. Some of the 4-H programs include environmental education, community service, animal studies, leadership skills, group interaction, arts and safety awareness.
4-H education focuses on the importance of learning responsibility, respect, life skills and leadership though a variety of hands-on project choices.
