WILTON — Christopher Leonards, formerly of Wilton, has recently had a third article accepted for publication. His most recent will appear in the professional journal, “Frontiers in Stroke,” and is entitled, “Triglycerides and stroke risk prediction: lessons from a prospective cohort study in German primary care patients.”

Earlier this year, Leonards published a review article in the same journal, “The role of fasting versus nonfasting triglycerides in ischemic stroke: a systematic review,” and he presented this research at the 2010 International Stroke Conference in Barcelona, Spain in May.

Leonards has been invited to present a third study, “The Cream and Sugar Study: elevated glucose levels, but not triglycerides, are associated with more severe white matter disease in acute ischemic stroke patients,” at the 2011 International Stroke Conference to be held in Los Angeles in February.

A 2007 graduate of Bates College, Leonards is a medical student at the Charite University in Berlin, Germany. He is the son of Kathy and Jeff Leonards of Wilton.
