HEBRON — Joe Collins scored back-to-back goals in the first half as Hebron Academy held on for a 2-0 victory over Hyde School in a boys’ MAISAD soccer semifinal game Wednesday.
Peter Quigley got the assist on Collins’ first goal and Tavis Gibbons and Tommy Cummings helped out on the second goal as both teams played through a scoreless second half.
Hebron goalie Lonnie Taylor got the shutout, making three saves. Hebron advances to the MAISAD championship game against No. 1 seed Kents Hill on Saturday.
Girls’ soccer
Hebron 6, Gould 2
HEBRON — Chelsea Boucher punched in back-to-back goals late in the second half to top off Hebron Academy’s 6-2 win over Gould Academy in a girls’ MAISAD soccer semifinal game Wednesday.
In the first half, Kailtyn Paiton and Sarah Markey each scored unassisted goals to give Hebron a 2-0 lead.
Gould punched back with a pair of goals from Sarah Doyan. In the second half, Hebron’s Janelle Bradish and Emily Wyman each scored a goal.
Hebron goes on to face host Kents Hill, the top seed, for the MAISAD championship in Readfield on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Field hockey
Kents Hill 2, Hebron 1
READFIELD — Ashley Doyle scored her unassisted goal and the game-winner mid way through the second half to give Kents Hill a 2-1 victory over Hebron Academy and the MAISAD field hockey championship Wednesday.
In the first half, Katherine Bowie scored for Kents Hill with an assist from Maya Bentley, but Hebron bounced back when Kim Vigneau scored with assistance from Natalie Maciejewski.
