Holiday gifts
NORWAY — Holiday gifts are for sale at the Norway Memorial Library during December. There are children’s books and adult paperbacks.
Proceeds from the sales support the Friends of the Norway Library projects, including the purchase of audios and videos for the library collection.
The Friends also have library items for sale, including pillows that picture the library building, “Appetite for Nostalgia” cookbooks, Christmas tree ornaments in the shape of the library building, library note cards and stainless coffee tumblers with the library logo.
Kids, call Santa
NORWAY — Area children can call and speak to Santa, Mrs. Claus or one of their elves on the “HO! HO! HO! Hotline” between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Dec. 14 to 22. Call 743-2373.The hotline is sponsored by Norway Rehab and Living Center.
School cantata
WOODSTOCK — The Forestdale Christian School, grades kindergarten through eight, will present a Christmas cantata, “The Christmas Party — The Backyard Bunch,” at the Woodstock Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 43 Perkins Valley Road.
There will be two performances: 6:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, and 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. Students will sing and tell a story of Jesus.
Christmas dinner
PARIS — There will be a community Christmas dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris.
Everyone is welcome to the free meal and takeout meals will be available. The meal will be hosted by Friends of Oxford Hills. For more information, call 674-5185.
Bridge results
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 10 at the recreation hall when a 4-1/2 table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A were Cynthia Clifford and Claire Lyons, who also were first in flight B;
second, flight A, Luke Merry and Fred Letourneau; third, Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements; second in flight B, Priscilla Rooth and Hazel Glazier; third, Carol Curran and Barbara Vanderzanden.
The annual Christmas party will be held Friday, Dec. 17, same time and place. All bridge players are invited and a partner is guaranteed.
