LISBON — Two women were hurt when their vehicles collided at Route 196 and Capital Avenue on Thursday morning, police said.

Lisbon officer Ryan McGee identified the drivers as Jacqueline Proctor, 77, of Florida and Edna Estabrook, 60, of Sabattus.

Proctor complained of chest pain and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where she was admitted, McGee said. Estabrook complained of head and neck pain and was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, also in Lewiston.

McGee said Proctor was driving east on Route 196 and Estabrook was crossing Route 196 from Capital Avenue when the accident occurred at 9:19 a.m. The accident remained under investigation, he said.

Lisbon Falls Fire Department responded to the scene to cut battery cables and clean up spilled fluids. Damage to Proctor’s 2006 Dodge Caravan was estimated at $4,000; and to Estabrook’s 1999 Toyota Camry, $2,500.
