PORTLAND — Good Theater will present “Is There Fat in That?,” a one-woman musical cabaret co-written and performed by Ellen Domingos.

The show is Domingos’ personal story of growing up in Maine, winning a national beauty pageant and becoming a working actress and super model in New York City. All through this journey, she battled an eating disorder.

For the production, running Jan. 13-23 at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, Good Theater teamed up with people affiliated with Mercy Hospital’s New England Eating Disorders Program.

“We are so pleased to partner with Mercy on this project. Ellen completed the program at Mercy four years ago, and it was a turning point in her life. Her show, “Fat,” is an outcome of this program,” said Good Theater Artistic Director Brian P. Allen, who is directing the show he co-wrote with Domingos.

Through humor and music, Domingos entertains audiences with her charm, voice and personality.

“Is There Fat in That?” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, $20; 7:30 p.m. on Saturday ($25) and 2 p.m. on Sunday ($25).

There will be a 7 p.m. performance on Wednesday, Jan. 19, ($15) and a 3 p.m. show on Saturday, Jan. 22, $20. Good Theater is at 76 Congress St. For tickets, call 885-5883.
