In 1974, Cecile married Larry Burgess of Auburn, the personnel manager for Bates Mill. Cecile turned her life over to Jesus Christ shortly afterward and trusted him for the remainder of her life. She was a faithful member of her church, Spanish River Presbyterian, in Boca Raton and was very active in the Christian Women’s Clubs.

Mr. Burgess passed away in Boca Raton in 2007. She was moved by her children to assisted living homes in South Carolina and Georgia and finally made her residence for the last several months at the Riverside Nursing Home.
