Quilters to meet

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. Part three of the mystery quilt will be available. All area quilters are invited. For more information, call 562-7050.

Class lunch

MEXICO — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Covered Wagon. For more information, call Isabel Duguay at 562-4241.

Mommas meet

RUMFORD — The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine met at 49 Franklin St. for the annual Christmas party, with 38 in attendance.

Four December birthdays were celebrated and the teapot exchange was made. The Thomas Kincaid bouquet door prize was won by Clara Gallant. Sammy Angel, the entertainment host, sang Christmas carols and invited everyone to join.

The January dinner/meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Green Church. The cost is $10 and must be paid by Thursday, Jan. 20. Annual dues will be due at the meeting.

Seniors trips

RUMFORD — Rumford Senior Citizens have planned the following trips:

Jan. 12, Hollywood slots, bus leaves at 8 a.m., cost of $25; Jan. 13, Portland shopping trip, bus leaves at 8 a.m., cost of $5; March 14, St. Patrick’s Day at the Beacon, cost of $55; April 8, Stars on Ice at the Portland Civic Center, bus leaves at 3 p.m., cost of $55; May 9 to 13, Cape Cod, bus leaves at 8 a.m., cost of $419. Down-payment of $75 is due Saturday, Jan. 8.

The group will gather Wednesday, Jan. 26 for a board meeting at 10 a.m. and membership meeting at 11:30, followed by a potluck lunch. Dues for 2011-2012 are due.
