BATH -— The Dreamland Theater will show the 1967 classic “Dr. Dolittle” at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9.

This is the fourth film in the theater’s “Kids’ Classics” series for children and tweens. The series, put on by Sagadahoc Preservation at its Winter Street Center, will be presented on the second Sunday of each month through May.

In the film, Rex Harrison plays Doctor Dolittle, a world-renowned veterinarian who speaks a wide array of animal languages. He sets off from his home in Puddleby-on-the-Marsh, England, in search of the Great Pink Sea Snail. In so doing, he and his friends meet such exotic creatures as the Pushme-Pullyu and the Giant Moon Moth.

Attendees should feel free to bring a box lunch or snack. Hot cocoa, juice, popcorn and treats will be available for $1 each.

There is no admission fee, but donations are suggested.

The Winter Street Center is at 880 Washington St., across from Library Park.

The 2010-2011 “Kids’ Classics” schedule may be viewed at sagadahocpreservation.org.
