LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore Falls Seniors met on Jan. 10 at Murray Hall with 30 present.
Chairwoman Shirley Couture reported Lucille Frechette is still on the sick list as is Shirley Toncer. The group welcomed back Marie Gagnon. A thank-you note was read from the Tri-County Ministries for the donation made in memory of Walter Ellingwood and Bill Chabot.
Couture said the menus are ready at LaFleur’s for the senior meals offered through SeniorsPlus. Now the meals are offered at the Chuck Wagon and LaFleur’s, but they are two different menus.
Couture also received a thank-you message from the American Legion for the help received on the meal served on Christmas Day, which fed 90 people.
It was proposed and accepted that a potluck lunch be served on Valentine’s day and that Couture try to get some entertainment. An article was read suggesting that beginning Friday everyone wear blue on Fridays in observance of all the men and women serving in the armed forces overseas.
The 50/50 was won by Francis Therrien. Following the meeting a Chinese auction was held and refreshments brought by Alice DeMoras and Joyce Richard were served. Marilyn DeSoto and Ellie Mitchell offered to do the refreshments for the next meeting on Monday, Jan. 17.
