MADISON — Dan Whitney sparked an 18-10 run in the third quarter that allowed Telstar to pull away for a 53-43 victory over Madison in a MVC boys’ basketball tilt Wednesday.
Whitney finished with 17 points for the Rebels (8-3), including 13 in that big third-quarter rally. Ben Field chipped in with 13 points, while Dan Vaughn added nine.
Madison (3-8) was paced by Ian Hartigan with a solid 12-point effort, while Seth Sweet tallied 11 and Cody Briggs added nine.
Dirigo 77, Carrabec 27
NORTH ANSON — Caleb Turner scored 17 points and Josh Turbide added another 12 as Dirigo walked all over Carrabec with a 77-27 victory in a boys’ basketball game Wednesday.
The Cougars (11-1) easily built a 51-11 lead at halftime and coasted the rest of the game. Cody St. Germain scored 10 points for Dirigo.
For winless Carrabec (0-12), Dylan Price hit for 10 points.
Boothbay 69, Lisbon 21
LISBON FALLS — Kameron Markee scored 17 points to lead Boothbay to a 69-21 win over Lisbon in MVC action Wednesday.
Dan Dickinson added 10 while Ben Dickinson chipped in nine for the Seahawks (9-2). Mike Degou and Mason Smith each had six points for Lisbon (0-11).
Boothbay built a 17-9 lead in the first quarter and upped that to 38-16 by halftime.
Buckfield 47, Pine Tree 23
BUCKFIELD — Casey Robertson scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Buckfield cut down Pine Tree with a 47-23 victory in a boys’ basketball game Wednesday.
Allan Hendrick scored 11 points and Austin Dooley scored eight and collected eight rebounds.
The Bucks (3-6) took a 16-7 lead at halftime. For Pine Tree, Tim McGuire scored 13 points.
Hall-Dale 52, St. Dom’s 40
AUBURN — After trailing by five at the break, Hall-Dale erupted for 30 points in the second half and recorded a 52-40 victory over St. Dom’s in a KVAC boys’ tilt Wednesday.
Sam Shepherd led the Bulldogs (5-6) with 15 points, while Brad Shepherd chipped in with 11.
The Saints (3-8) were led by Joe Bryant with a solid 12-point effort, while Tom Applegate netted 11 points and hauled down 10 rebounds.

Hebron 5, Bridgton 1
HEBRON — Josh Brodeau and Mike Settipani each scored a goal and an assist to lead Hebron to a 5-1 win over Bridgton Academy on Wednesday.
Todd Bannerman, Andrew Crawford and Lou Caraglia added goals for the Lumberjacks. Mike Messuri had 24 saves in goal for Hebron.
Bridgton got a goal from Steve Laliberte on an assist from Ryan Kulik. Brad Cray made 30 stops in net.
Brodeur and Bannerman each scored in the opening period. Settipani made it 3-0 in the second on the power play. Bridgton cut the lead with its lone goal early in the third, but Crawford and Caraglia answered.
