AUBURN — Arthur Paul Parker Sr., 76, a former resident of Lewiston, has been called home to heaven to join God and his loving family. Arthur died Saturday, Jan. 15, after a long battle with lung disease at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

He was born July 25, 1934, in Braintree, Mass., the son of Arthur and Charlotte Fraizer Parker. He married the former Lorraine Gagnon on May 7, 1965. He was a member of the National Guard in his younger years, and worked as a supervisor in shoe manufacturing for many years, retiring from the Eastland Shoe Co. in Freeport.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Parker of Auburn; a son, Arthur Parker Jr. of Florida; two daughters, Dolores Smith of Sanford, N.C., and Roxanne Johnson of Gardiner; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Dean Wiers of Auburn; brother, Leveritte and wife, Joyce, of Falmouth; grandchildren, Dolor Smith Jr. and companion, Elizabeth Conway, of Auburn, Season and Thomas Donaghey of Sanford, N.C., Jamie Smith of Daytona, Fla., Alexis Smith of Lewiston, Laurie Parker of Lewiston, Joseph Parker and companion, Jesse Emery, of Lewiston and Nicole Johnson of Lewiston; great-grandchildren, Dolor Smith III, Noah Smith and Haley Conway of Auburn and Alyssia Parker of Lewiston; a beloved daughter-in-law, Robin Jacobson of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Dolor Smith Sr.

The family thanks the staff of the Hospice House for the wonderful care our husband, father, and friend was given during his final days. He will be greatly missed. Arthur, we love you forever.
