FREEPORT — Southern Maine Geriatrics announces that Dr. Barbara Steinbrecher joined the practice full time on Jan. 1.

Dr. Steinbrecher received her medical degree from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at Maine General Hospital and completed a fellowship in geriatrics through the Maine-Dartmouth Family Practice program. Dr. Steinbrecher is board-certified in family medicine and anticipates certification in geriatrics in November 2011. She has practiced in Maine for more than 10 years.

Dr. Steinbrecher will work primarily at Clover Manor in Auburn, Gorham House in Gorham and at The Highlands in Topsham.
