WALES — Regional School Unit 4’s central office will be closed until Feb. 16 because a staff member has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the district’s Facebook page Monday.

Ten people were identified as close contacts with the staff member, according to the post.

“Should you need to contact someone at Central Office please either visit the district webpage for email addresses or call our general line at 207-375-4273 and leave a message in our general voicemail and someone will return your call,” the post said.

The district issued a letter to staff, students and families advising them of the situation.

“Maine (Center for Disease Control) or a school representative will contact you directly if you are identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive, the letter said. “Close contacts will be asked to quarantine for 10 days from last exposure to the positive individual. A negative test result does not get an individual out of quarantine.”

RSU 4 includes the Wales, Sabattus and Litchfield.
