KEYTSTONE, Colo. (AP) – A coroner says a 13-year-old boy died after running into a tree with his chest while skiing in Keystone.

The boy was flown to the Summit Medical Center in Frisco at about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and died at the hospital more than an hour later. Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says the boy was wearing a helmet but he suffered massive chest trauma when he hit a tree at an advanced ski run.

The boy’s name was not released. Officials say he and his family were visiting from Connecticut since Saturday.
