The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will hold open auditions beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, for a series of small-cast one-act plays to be presented on July 1, 2, 4 and 5 during its One-Act Play Festival.
Each play will have a unique director. Plays include “The Reading of the Will,” “Morning of a Private Eye,” “Boy Meets Girl in Washington” and “Optimism.” During auditions, masks are to be worn and social distancing observed.
The casts for individual plays will not overlap backstage on the nights of production. All COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are to be followed in staging and presentation, and all COVID-19 state restrictions regarding audience size and social distancing are to be observed.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
