STRONG — James Burrill was elected to a three-year term as selectman Friday, defeating incumbent Mary White by 41 votes.

Burrill received 142 votes; White, 101.

Marc Edwards collected 136 votes for a three-year term on the SAD 58 board. Write-in candidate Cameron Lorrain got 89 votes.

Candidates for the three Budget Committee seats were elected: incumbent Dean Stanley, 232 votes; Valerie Tucker, 129 votes; write-in Lauris “Audie” Abbott, 61 votes.

A total of 248 voters cast ballots.

The annual town meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Forster Memorial Building on Main Street. There are 61 articles on the warrant.
