Raymond J. Landry

AUBURN – Raymond J. Landry, 76, of Lewiston, passed away Tuesday morning May 25, 2021 at Clover Manor with family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston April 3, 1945, a son of Gerard and Rolande (Caron) Landry. Ray was educated at St. Louis School in Auburn and graduated high school from St. Dom’s in 1962. He was a military Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1969.

On August 1, 1970 Ray married the former Claudette Poussard who predeceased him in 2019. His working career spanned over 40 years in the Lewiston-Auburn area as a dental technician. Ray first owned and operated the New Auburn Dental Lab for many years and later worked for several years for Dr. Auster’s dental practice until his retirement. He altered his career path to care for his mother and in-laws until their deaths.

Among his favorite enjoyments were fishing and genealogy, as well as history and science programs. He was so proud to have trained his cousin Marc for three of his Heavyweight Golden Gloves Championships. He also truly loved attending boxing, wrestling and MMA events with his son, and action/comic book movies with his son and grandchildren. Ray was a loving, devoted and hardworking son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind his son, Dr. Charles Landry and wife Mari of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Hope and Rhys Landry; his sister, Anita Celentano and husband Frank of Fayetteville, N.C. He also leaves behind several sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Claudette; a son, Serge; and his parents Rolande and Gerard.

Visiting hours will take place Wednesday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fortin Group / Auburn with a prayer service to be held at 6 p.m. the same evening. He will be laid to rest in the family lot at St. Peter’s Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to The Fortin Group Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 217 Turner St., Auburn 783-8545.
