Democrats consider Joe Biden the safe choice in 2024, since he’s the incumbent and surrounded by flawed alternatives, yet he is actually an enormous risk. Nominating him again would be extremely reckless, both for the party and for the country.

Randy Wadleigh: Pine Tree Power presents more questions than answers
Recently it was announced that Pine Tree Power collected enough signatures to get on the ballot in 2023. This got my attention as a small business owner. Everyone knows restaurants were hit hard during the pandemic. I’m the proud owner of Governors restaurants, with six locations from Lewiston to Presque Isle, and we’re asking the […]
Froma Harrop: Fauci proved no good deed goes unpunished

She immediately demonstrated her ability and delight in listening and learning from others’ experiences. Her passion for creating the best possible learning environment for each and every student is grounded in her research, studies and […]

From the continued advocacy by some for no restrictions on abortion, to states that have passed assisted-suicide legislation, the value on human life “endowed by our Creator” has eroded like sand at the seashore.
Leonard Pitts Jr.: We owe them much better than this
The Nazis systematically murdered 11 million people — 6 million of them Jews, the rest homosexuals, communists, labor unionists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the disabled — for the “crime” of worshiping, thinking or being, different. That’s a September 11 attack every day for 10 years.
