We can, and we must, do better to support the health and well-being of family units in this country. It fits squarely within our values, and it is something that I feel we have been called to do.

Froma Harrop: He hit? She hit?
There’s no way for an outsider to easily judge the dueling claims in the court battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The actors completed their whirlwind divorce years ago but continue to volley accusations of physical abuse in what has turned out to be a battle for public opinion.
Joseph Valiente: Flavored tobacco products benefit industry, hurt kids
We’re searching for a better word, but the best we have is “disappointed.” That’s our feeling regarding our elected officials and LD 1550, the bill to end the sale of flavored tobacco products in Maine. Pam Larouche: Auburn petition movement not a ‘NIMBY’ matter
Mayor Jason Levesque has, among his magic tricks, a hat filled with cliches. One of his favorites is NIMBY — not in my backyard — which is used to guilt-trip Auburn citizens. This tired and old acronym has nothing to do with how the petition signers feel. The petition signers I have met reject the […]
