Robert Macdonald: Train study a waste of time, money
A committee has been formed to study bringing a train to the Lewiston area. Perhaps before getting too far into this venture, the committee should pause and read the children’s story, “The Little Engine That Could.” In the story the engine is finally able to climb up the mountain and go over its top. Miracle? […]
In rebuttal: Marc Greenwood: ‘Authentic Christianity requires courage’
I’ve read and re-read Cal Thomas’s July 11 column. It seems Thomas has swallowed a specious and a spurious fantasy: America was founded as a Christian nation, and thus manifested American exceptionalism. I’m a Christian believer and a minister, who found Thomas’s anemic, westernized, weak-kneed pity party for Christianity an affront, which required a rebuttal. […]
Rich Lowry: Biden’s demagogic voting speech
When it comes to juicing up his own supporters, the Biden speech may have been effective, but it wasn’t statesmanship — or remotely truthful.

However, the speech’s touted climate benefits, much resembling CMP’s false advertising for […]

What’s worse, though, is when they have power to impose those realities on the rest of us. That’s what we’re seeing in Tennessee and elsewhere, and the results will be as tragic as they are predictable and preventable.
Froma Harrop: Not getting your shot can cost you your job
No one has to get the shot, but no one should have to employ those who won’t. Playtime is over.
John Wade: Questioning GOP’s support of Trump
I wondered why one of our major political parties, the GOP, went crazy and decided to worship Donald Trump. So I decided to see if there was an answer to my questions online. National Public Radio featured a study titled: “Activating Animus: The Uniquely Social Roots of Trump Support.” Professor Lilliana Mason said the study was […]
