"I do not support animals being in the circus," said Ashley English of Leeds as she stood outside the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston on Friday. "Animals are not meant to be held captive." English has protested the Shrine Circus each of the past three years when the circus came to town. She said she would like to see the Lewiston circus become an animal free circus like the Shrine Circus in Portland. Sun Journal photo by Daryn Slover
