An improperly extinguished campfire is believed to be the cause of a forest fire that burned half an acre of conserved land last week. Fire officials anticipate the fire danger will increase and are warning campers to be cautious.

Main Street will close to vehicles from Howard Place by The Lobster Cooker and Pub, to Bow Street, by Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen, from 8 a.m. on Saturdays to 8 p.m. on Sundays, and a detour will be in place from West Street to Depot Street and then to Bow Street.
