JKA Maine Karate Academy belt testing results

GREENE — JKA Maine Karate Academy held their first belt testing on Oct. 14. Results are as follows: Isabella Miller, Jonah Luong and Islah Shovilin was promoted to 8th kyu. Joe Shovilin and Darryl Farris were promoted to 7th kyu. Rich Boucher and Tom Osgood were promoted to 3rd kyu.

Phoenix Karate Academy’s Kids May Belt test

All students executed basics (punches, blocks, kicks) using correct Japanese terminology, Kata (set memorized movements), Self–Defense techniques, and sparring concepts (light contact fighting). As well as anti-bullying,  stranger defense concepts, non-violent posturing and restraint.
