Strong winds cause power outages, displace Scarborough family

Ski mountains in Maine closed or warned skiers about rainy conditions Monday, although colder temperatures and snow are expected later in the week.

About 3 inches of snow covered Lewiston and Auburn on Tuesday morning.

By the afternoon, forecasters at the National Weather Service said snowfall had ended for most of Maine, save for Down East.

By Wednesday, about 2 or 3 inches of snow that fell the previous day will still be around, though it may be a bit less white.
