Mt. Blue gets more out of Souther Farm than just electricity
The USDA is investing more into renewable energy sources, such as the solar farm at Souther Farm in Livermore Falls. This solar farm not only benefits local schools by offsetting energy costs, but students are getting involved and learning more about renewable energy.

Spruce Mountain robotics students granted approval to attend out-of-state competitions
Spruce Mountain High School students and mentors are part of Blue Crew FIRST Robotics Competition Team 6153 from Mt. Blue Campus in Farmington, and they hope to repeat the success they achieved last year.

RSU 9 community debates gender-identity poster
Thirty people addressed the Regional School Unit 9 Board of Directors during meeting Tuesday, Sept. 13, to discuss a poster hanging at Mt. Blue High and Middle schools called "Gender 101." People during public comment showed support for the poster, while others called for its removal. For now, Superintendent Chris Elkington has determined in a review the poster will stay in place.
