Varsity Maine Boys Skier of the Year: Alden Reardon, Fort Kent

Reardon won the Sassi Memorial, the Aroostook Nordic Championship classic and freestyle titles, and was the fastest skier at the state championships.

Spruce Mountain, Fryeburg Academy and Yarmouth each have two skiers on the list.

The senior wrapped up her high school career by sweeping the Class C titles while skiing the fastest times in any class.

This year’s team is made up entirely of upperclassmen, representing nine schools.

The area’s top Alpine and Nordic skiers include two apiece from Edward Little, Gray-New Gloucester and Mt. Blue.

The senior claimed 55-meter hurdles, high jump and pole vault state titles to help power the Red Storm to the Class A championship.

Several conferences are represented on this year’s list of the best from across the state.

Lewiston, Edward Little, Leavitt and Poland have multiple athletes on this year’s team.

The senior won 15 of the 16 races he ran this winter, capturing state 800-meter and mile titles as well as the New England mile crown.
