AUBURN —  City Council special workshop and meeting in City Council Chamber on the second floor of Auburn Hall. The workshop is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and topics include land leases and an executive session review of the acting city manager’s job performance. The meeting follows at 7 p.m. and the topic is a vote on the 2015-16 school budget.

LEWISTON — School Committee, 6:45 p.m., Farwell Elementary School. Agenda: draft of bus communication protocol, plus detailed Proficiency Based Learning (PBL) update. Other topics include Department of Education review results, plans for coming year and reporting system.

TUESDAY, May 12

LEWISTON — School budget referendum, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Longley Elementary School.

AUBURN — Planning Board, 6 p.m. in City Council Chamber on the second floor of Auburn Hall.

LEWISTON — Lewiston-Auburn Charter Commission meeting, 6 p.m., City Council Chamber on the bottom floor of City Hall. Topics include a continued review of the model charter and reports from commission sub-groups.

FRIDAY, May 15

LEWISTON — Great Falls Forum “Beyond the Ice Bucket Challenge: the Latest Research on Lou Gehrig’s Disease” by Edward Little graduate Dr. Brett Morrison, noon, Lewiston Public Library, Callahan Hall. Morrison, director of inpatient neurology consult services at Johns Hopkins University, will describe current treatments and challenges of clinical trials. Free admission; bring a brown-bag lunch.
