SIOUX CITY, IA – Lauren Tanel poured in 19 points and pulled down a dozen rebounds to lead Holy Family to a 71-66 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington Wednesday at the 2003 NAIA Division II Championship. Karyn Connors chipped in with 17 points for the Tigers, while Ashley Dunek tallied 13. Kristina Weise also contributed to the win with 13 rebounds and 10 points.

Kate LaHaye and Megan Woodcock led the Beavers with 14 points apiece, while Jocelyn Sawyer chipped in with 11.

Hannah Socoby tallied nine points in the losing effort while Lydia Coverdale added eight. Holy Family held a tight one-point advantage at the half, then squeaked by UMF with a strong second half.
