FORT MYERS, Fla. – Brady Endl drew a bases-loaded walk in the top of the ninth inning to force home the winning run as the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater came from behind to hand the Southern Maine a 11-10 setback in baseball action Sunday afternoon.

With two on and two outs, Jason Thibodeau hit Dan Gnatzig to load the bases. D.J. Cartledge ( four hits) followed with a sharp single to tie the game setting the stage for Endl, who drew the bases loaded walk.

The Huskies scored four runs in the first inning and regained the lead with six more in the fiftth, but the Warhawks chipped away with a pair of runs in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the victory.

Reliever Randy Borgardt stemmed the Huskies’ six-run outburst in the fifth and held them scoreless the rest of the way to notched the win.

Southern Maine bangerd out 14 hits as Brandon Brewer, Colin Loveless, Pat McDonough, Brian Marshall, and Drew Palmer each had a pair of singles.

Thibodeau took the loss in relief of Tip Fairchild, who came on in the sixth inning and allowed three runs in his three innings of work.

Wentworth 12, UNE 2

BIDDEFORD – Mike Black scored four goals to lead Wentworth to a 12-2 victory over the University of New England in men’s lacrosse action Sunday.

The Lepards (2-1) put the game away early with three goals in the first period and four more in the second.

Kevin Benasich tallied both goals for the Nor’easters (0-1).

Mike Wood, Joe Marcel, and T.J. Dahil added a pair of gaols each in the lopsided win.
