GRAY – The Threshold to Maine Resource Conservation and Development Area Inc. held the annual meeting on Feb. 6 at Cole Farms Restaurant. Twenty-seven members, guests and sponsors were on hand to celebrate local activities supporting agriculture.

Chairwoman Eileen Curtis highlighted several projects, including the Maine Roots Festival, Agriculture Incubator Center, Mobile Kitchen, Open Farm Day and Goat Production.

The following people and organizations were recognized for their contributions:

Cliff Foster of Gray, for longevity of continuous service.

Kathleen S. Perry, representing Greater Portland Council of Governments, freshman cheerleader award.

Randy Perry of Cousin’s Island, volunteer assistance.

Ned Porter, deputy commissioner of agriculture, partnership cooperation between Threshold to Maine and the Maine Department of Agriculture.

Eileen Curtis, outstanding program development with the Maine Roots Festival Project.

Andrew McNeally, representing Cumberland County commissioners, outstanding council member.

Mark Hews, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service coordinator, his efforts and work in support of the 2006 national RC&D convention.

Norris Conant, representing Oxford County commissioners, outstanding service as a council chairman for two consecutive year terms.
