LOCKE MILLS – There will be joint services of the Locke Mills Union Church and Rumford Point Congregational Church 6 .m. Thursday, April 17. There will be a potluck supper, sader, communion and service.

Ice-out winner

BETHEL – The Bethel Historical Society has announced that Annie Hastings of Bethel submitted the winning entry in the “ice out” contest sponsored by the society. Her guess was the closest to the the actual time of 7 p.m., April 1, when the pipes thawed and water began to flow. She and a guest will be eligible for a full course meal in the dining room of the historic Dr. Mason House.

Seat inspections

RUMFORD – There will be a children’s booster car seat inspection at the Rumford Fire Department on Thursday, April 24.

Seniors meeting

DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, April 16, at the Dixfield Legion Hall. The meeting will start at 11 a.m. followed by a baked ham dinner prepared and served by Post 100. This is the annual free meal provided by the post. Entertainment will be provided by Silver and Gold. Membership in the Neighborly Seniors is open to anyone age 50 and up. New members are welcome.
