JAY – The Jay Middle School seventh-grade class completed the 10-week DARE course on April 1 and 2.
During the two days the students presented public service announcements about the affects that alcohol, drugs and violence can have on people. During the 10-week program students discussed a variety of topics that relate to their school and their community. Some of the topics discussed are alternatives to the use of drugs and violence.
Other topics included ways to deal with stress of everyday life and different ways to deal with pressures put onto them by their friends, family and the school.
To celebrate the accomplishment of completing the course the seventh-graders are having a dance on Friday, April 18. The dance will be a way for the students that successfully completed the course to have a safe and fun time.
The dance is being sponsored by the Jay Citizens for DARE, Jay Middle School and the Jay Police Department.
