STRONG – The Strong Nursing Home has named Sue White as Employee of the Month. Her peers have described her as the best resident communicator.

“Sue has the patience to keep talking with a resident that is upset until she discovers the cause and then strives to fix the problem no matter what it is,” according to Paula Varney of the nursing home. She has a special way with residents and always seems to know what they are saying even when others are at a loss.

White is a certified nurses’ assistant on the night shift and has worked at the Strong Nursing Home for six years.

White says she enjoys working with the residents, and the staff says the residents love her. “I have a great feeling of satisfaction and happiness knowing I have made a resident feel his/her best,” says White.

She lives in Phillips with her husband and son Travis. She enjoys snowmobiling and camping. Her older son Jason is attending Central Maine Technical College in Auburn. She also has a granddaughter; Cassidy, who was born the end of March.
