LEWISTON – Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre will host the Maine Association of Community Theatres One-Act Festival for the first time on May 2 and 3 at the Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy Street.

The festival brings together community theater groups from around the state for two days of one-act plays, workshops and networking. The schedule calls for three one-act plays on Friday evening, three on Saturday afternoon and three on Saturday evening.

The workshops will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The festival’s organizers are working on the schedule and will release it at a later date.

The tentative line-up includes the following theater groups: Studio Theatre of Bath, Cauldron and Labrys Productions of Portland, Monmouth Community Players, Aquaville Community Actors’ Theatre of Waterville, Camden Civic Theatre, Gaslight Theatre of Hallowell, Open Book Players of Gardiner and Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre. Other groups are expected to register.

Tentative workshops scheduled will focus on playwriting, stage combat and improv. CLT members working on the festival include Chris Scott and Linda Britt, co-directors; Dick Martin, technical director; Doreen Traynor, house manager, Ray Siegler, Shirley Bernier, Celeste Philippon, Amey Feeley, Toby Haber, Eileen Messina and Janet Gibson.
