1917 – 2003

WILTON – Frances H. Meakim, 85, of Wilton, died early Sunday morning, April 20, at her home on Sunset Avenue.

Born in Grasmere, N.H., Dec. 21, 1917, a daughter of Lewis and Fannie (Beard) Williams, she attended New Hampshire schools, graduating from Goffstown High School in 1936. She went on to attend Hesser Business College.

On Jan. 16, 1942, she married Robert J. Meakim in Manchester, NH. He died Sept. 2, 1986.

Mrs. Meakim was a homemaker to her family traveling with her husband throughout New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts and Maine, when they moved to Wilton on Sept. 4, 1969.

She was a pioneer girl leader and former secretary of the East Livermore Campmeeting Association. Mrs. Meakim attended the Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Wilton.

Survivors include a son, Robert and his wife, Grudrun of Karlsruhe, Germany; two daughters, Linda Meakim of Wilton and Sheryl Small and her husband, Richard of Wilton; a sister, Bertha French of Manchester, NH; a granddaughter, Rachel Auger and her husband, David of Manchester, NH; step-granddaughter, Margie Eslick of Karlsruhe, Germany; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Michelle Auger of Manchester, NH.

She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Eames.
