RUMFORD – A Roxbury man picked the wrong place to park Saturday night.
Richard True, 18, was summoned for illegal possession of marijuana by officer Mark Cayer during stepped up patrols at the town’s Information Center on Bridge Street, said Sgt. George Cayer, no relation.
“The officer was investigating a loitering vehicle in the information booth parking lot,” Sgt. Cayer said Monday afternoon. “In the past, we have received numerous complaints from selectmen about (loitering vehicles) and vandalism in that area, so we frequently check that area.
“Upon investigation of one vehicle at 8:26 p.m., the odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. A search was conducted and True summoned.”
Mark Cayer also summoned Tiffany Deroche, 25, of Rumford the same day, on Railroad Street, on charges of illegal possession of marijuana and having an expired driver’s license over 90 days.
