MEXICO – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a four-week class, Creating Your Future, at the Rumford/Mexico University College from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, April 30 through May 21. Drop-in hours will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. Mondays at the University College in Mexico and from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays at the Norway Memorial Library. Services include information and referral to other resources, assistance with career development, job search and planning for self sufficiency. Services are free. Arts forum
RUMFORD – The River Valley Arts Initiative will host a Community Meeting on the Arts from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Mountain Valley Middle School. The public is invited to come to reveal and discuss cultural heritage, fine arts, traditional and folk arts, ethnic traditions, local history, performing arts, practical and arts, crafts, literary arts, occupational arts and more.
The meeting is the first step in creating an art and cultural inventory of the area. Bruce Hazard of Mountain Counties Heritage will facilitate the meeting.
