1940 – 2003

WELD – Raymond H. Weed Jr. of Weld, died April 22, at his home.

Born in Chester, Conn., March 21, 1940, he was known to his friends as Butch. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine, on April 23, 1960.

He worked 24 years as an electrician for Connecticut Light & Power. Upon retirement he moved to Weld, where he loved to spend time with his family. He worked part-time for his son’s company, New Horizon Builders of Wilton as a painter.

He also loved gardening, cutting wood, hunting and fishing and most of all enjoyed his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Elaine; his five children, Terry Priest and her husband, Chuck of Weld, Donna Trabucchi and her husband, John of Weld, Raymond Weed of Wilton, William Weed of Fredrick, Md., and Rachel Fretz and her husband, Dave of Wilton; and seven grandkids, who lovingly referred to him as “Pop-Pop,” Jesse Priest, Jack Trabucchi, Jeremy Jackson, Joel Jackson, Spencer Weed, Camille Weed and Emily Fretz.
