BINGHAMTON, New York – Jeff Duncan singled in the winning run in a two-run eighth-rally as the Binghamton Mets defeated the Portland Sea Dogs 5-3 Thursday night.
The game was tied 3-3 when Duncan hit his RBI single against reliever Felix Villega (1-3). Craig Brazell followed with an RBI single against James Johnson to provide an insurance run.
The Sea Dogs (6-6) loaded the bases in the ninth inning with two outs, but failed to score. Eric Cammack (1-1) threw three scoreless innings for the win.
Portland was led by Kevin Youkilis, who singled three times and walked once.
With the loss, the Sea Dogs fell to 1.5 games behind Binghamton (9-6) in the Eastern League’s North Division.
