RUMFORD — Pete Doucette recently joined Hannaford Food and Drug in Rumford as assistant store manager.

Doucette has been with Hannaford Bros. Co. since 1990, starting as a part-time seafood clerk at the Shop n’ Save in Lewiston.

He has also been a retail management trainee for Hannaford’s former Welby Drug stores and assistant store manager for Welby. He also has been a non-foods manager, evening manager, interim grocery manager, and sales and service facilitator for Hannaford stores.

He has served on safety committees, has chaired a safety committee and served as District 3 non-foods trainer and resource team member.

Doucette graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1986 and Bates College in Lewiston in 1990 with a B.A. in economics.

He lives in Hebron with his wife, Jeannine, son James and his 82-year-old grandmother.

His community involvement includes Bowl for Kids Sake coordinator, United Way Day of Caring participant, Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce golf committee, Adopt a School program in Oxford and Auburn and Oxford Hills Holiday Parade. He also is the publicity director for the Oxford County Fair Racetrack Committee.
