1955 – 2003

TOGUS – Merle H. Scott, 47, a resident of 341 Packard Road, Monmouth, died very unexpectedly Sunday, April 27, at the Veterans Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston on July 4, 1955, the son of Earl and Helen Pease Scott. He attended schools in the Monmouth school system and Monmouth Academy. He served in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War.

On Nov. 24, 1978 he married Vickie F. Crocker of Monmouth. He had been employed as a carpenter and mechanic. He was a member of the D.A.V. and P.V.A. He enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling. In 1989 he lost his leg due to frostbite.

He is survived by his mother of Monmouth; his wife of Monmouth; a son, Mark of Livermore; two daughters, Melisa of Monmouth and Michele Moreau and her husband Chris of Livermore Falls; six brothers, Lendell S. of Auburn, Andrew B. of Sabattus, Lee A. of Lewiston, Earl Jr., of Richmond, Larry of South Monmouth, and Jerry L. of Gardiner; three sisters, Perlene F. Colby of Gardiner, Hazel E. Maheux of Waterville, and Laura M. Hodson of Monmouth; six grandchildren, Corbin Michael, Abbigale, Trivin, Chantel, Skylar, and Casandra.

He was predeceased by his father; and a brother, Hanford Scott.
