LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club’s speaker on Thursday, May 1, will be Dina Jackson of the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments. She will discuss “The Impact of Tourism on Western Maine” and will include an overview of the efforts of the Maine Lakes and Mountains Tourism Council in this part of the state. The group meets weekly for noon luncheon sessions at the Ramada Inn.
Sodality Mass
LEWISTON – St. Patrick’s Church Rosary Sodality will hold Corporate Communion at 8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 4, followed by a continental breakfast in Msgr. Gleason Hall for Sodalists and their families.
The group will meet on Tuesday, May 6, beginning with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel. New members will be installed followed by a meeting and refreshments in Msgr. Gleason Hall.
Fortier to elect
LEWISTON – Chapter Dr. Paul Fortier, Association Canado Americaine, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5, at the Multi-Purpose Center Seniors Room, Birch Street.
Officers will be elected for the year and the program for “Join Hands Day” will be finalized. There will be 50/50 and door prizes.
Members will meet to visit Marshwood Nursing Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14. All members are invited.
Mt. Olivet meeting
AUBURN – Mt. Olivet Chapter 29, OES, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the Masonic Hall, Turner Street. Members will honor chaplains and Marthas. Amy Peterson will provide refreshments after the meeting. All Eastern Star members are invited.
Past presidents
AUBURN – The Capt. Frank W. Hulett VFW Post 1603 Auxiliary past presidents met recently at the home of Linda Pearl, president, who presided.
The group made yellow ribbons held with red, white and blue beaded pins. The birthdays of Tina Dupont and Lillian Deschaines will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, at the home of Lucille Ray. The hostess served a lunch.
