1934 – 2003

RUMFORD – Maurice C. Snell Jr., 69, of Middle Avenue, Mexico, passed away Monday, May 5, at the Rumford Community Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston, May 10, 1934, a son of Maurice C. Snell Sr. and Elmira (Weymouth) Snell. Mr. Snell was Korean War Veteran and served his country in the Army and Air Force.

In 1969 he married his beloved wife, the former Earline (Bulger). For over 30 years he worked at the G.H. Bass Shoe, and ended his career as the Plant Manager and retired in 1998. His hobbies included hunting and making crafts. He was an avid fisherman and spent many happy moments fishing with his son, John.

Mr. Snell is survived by his loving wife, Earline Snell of Mexico; one son, John Snell of Mexico; one sister, Marion Grondin of Lewiston; one brother, John Snell and wife Ruth of Carthage.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Caroline Badger and Dot Morris; and one brother, Bud Snell.
