FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley Chapter of the Maine Genealogy Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Farmington Public Library. Sharon Ann Paradis, certified genealogist, will present a variety of topics, addressing specific places to look for genealogical information and the most important subject, Documenting Your Sources. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome.

Society speaker

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will meet on Monday, May 12, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program at 7.

Shirley Adams will be the speaker. Her subject is Memoirs of Rangeley. Guests and new members are welcome.

Cemetery group

CHESTERVILLE – The Chesterville Hill Cemetery Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the Farmington Falls Fire Station.

Sportsmen to meet

RANGELEY – State Fisheries Biologist Forrest Bonney and Dave Boucher from Maine’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will speakers at the Thursday, May 15, meeting of the Rangeley Region Guides’ and Sportsmen’s Association. They will update members on the Stream Restoration and Telemetry Study on the Rapid River.

Prior to this talk, members and friends will gather for a 5:30 p.m. potluck supper and short meeting at the club house on Old Ski Way Road, Oquossoc. All are welcome. Bring either a hot dish, salad or dessert.

Retired teachers

FARMINGTON – Franklin County Teachers Association will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the Granary Restaurant. For reservations, call by May 15 either Ken Marks at 778-5002, Verne Byers at 778-3495 or Marjorie Collins at 864-2223.
