1922 – 2003

NORWAY George Jagoe, 80, died Tuesday, May 6, at Stephen’s Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

Born in Farmingdale, N.Y., Nov. 21, 1922, a son of George and Florence (Bonnington) Jagoe, he had attended schools in Farmingdale, N.Y.

During World War II he served as a Gunners Mate 2c with the U.S. Navy. For many years he was a self-employed landscape contractor.

He was married in Belmont, N.Y. on Dec. 4, 1944 to the late Jeanne Bryson. Mr. Jagoe was formerly a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Mazzaferro of New York, and Wendy Forsch of California; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William Jagoe of New York; and four sisters, Elizabeth Ciscrik of New York, Florence Kurtz of Texas, Edith Compitello of New York, and Noreen Gunther of Florida.

He was predeceased by a son, Bruce.
