The Land Trust oversees conservation easements on more than 300 acres of privately owned land in western Maine. Participants usually see about 50 species of birds, organizers said. Interested parties can become involved by making a pledge to a board member or by joining the walk. There is a $10 contribution per person for the walk, $15 per family. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and waterproof boots, and bring binoculars. Fresh baked goods, coffee and tea are traditionally served after the walk.
