AUBURN — The 2002 Western Maine Envirothon will be Friday, May 16, at the Auburn Land Lab. It’s one of five regional competitions. The state competition will be Thursday, May 29, at Highmoor Farm in Monmouth.
The envirothon is a competition for high school students from grades nine to 12. There are five categories: soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife and a special emphasis category. “Farmland Protection” is the topic for this year’s competition.
