RANGELEY – Matt Lowell rocked a grand slam in the third inning to lead Buckfield to a 14-0 EWC triumph over Rangeley on Tuesday.
Brendan Harvey smacked a three-run double in the third inning to lead the Bucks (12-2), who wrapped up the win in five via the mercy rule. Jeff Russell, Scott Wetherell and Harry Hayes all chipped in a double.
Neil Stewart delivered the lone hit for the Lakers (2-9) in the first inning.
St. Dom’s 13, Waynflete 3
AUBURN – Josh Dwinal ripped an RBI triple in the first inning to lead St. Dom’s to a 13-3 WMC victory over Waynflete.
Mike Guerin led off the fourth inning with a triple for the Saints (12-1). Ian Pullen smacked a one-run double in the first and ended the contest 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Ryan Goulet added a one-run double in the fourth for St. Dom’s.
Matt Manson and Mike Carpenter each hit RBI doubles in the sixth inning, with Carpenter’s clout ending the game. Dwinal ended his day 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Jimmy Mayo started on mound for the Saints and was relieved by Brady Blackman in the fifth. Blackman continued his streak of not giving up a hit all season.
Thornton 11, Edward Little 3
SACO – Josh Tremblay smacked a two-run homer in the sixth inning and an RBI double in the third to lead Thornton to an 11-3 SMAA win over Edward Little.
Martin Keil had two hits and two RBIs, while Derek Benauedes, the leadoff hitter, reached base five times, scoring two runs for the Trojans (8-7).
Nick Lawler hit a double and an RBI single for the Eddies (4-10). Jamie Martel banged out three hits.
Bonny Eagle 1, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – Jon Dalton hit a double in the sixth inning to bring home Kirk Underwood and give Bonny Eagle a 1-0 SMAA win over Lewiston.
Underwood hit a bunt single, the only other hit of the game for the Scots (10-4), in the third inning.
Lewiston (1-14) had five hits, including a double each from Joe McGrath and Mike Leclair.
Lacrosse
Oak Hill 14, Wiscasset 10
WALES – Steve Robert netted four goals and had five assists to lead Oak Hill to a 14-10 boys’ lacrosse victory over Wiscasset.
Adam Buckingham chipped in with three goals and five assists for the Raiders (7-4). Joe Hinkley and David Chase each added a pair of goals, while Ricky Pelletier, Casey Behne and Ryan Gallagher added a goal apiece.
Ben Ellis led the Redskins (3-8) with four goals and an assist, while Rob Percy and Dan Foster combined for six goals.
Jake Rancourt stopped 10 shots in net for the Raiders, while Spencer Thompson made 12 saves for the Redskins.
Lewiston 12, South Portland 7
SOUTH PORTLAND – Adam Toutain found the back of the net six times as Lewiston defeated South Portland 12-7 for its 10th straight triumph.
Aaron Daly, Ben Fournier, Sean Boulanger, Matt Dumais, Evan Cyr and Tony Travaligni each netted a goal apiece for the Devils (10-1). Brian Doyle and Chris D’Amboise combined for all seven goals for the Red Riots (4-7). Billy Brooks made 14 saves between the pipes for the Devils, while Joe Yoon stopped 17 shots for South Portland.
Mt. Blue 15, Messalonskee 10
FARMINGTON – Buzzy Cyr scored the eventual game-winning goal on an unassisted conversion as Mt. Blue downed Messalonskee 15-10.
The Cougars (9-2) were locked in a rugged battle through the first three quarters and much of the fourth until they generated a flurry of goals in the final stages of regulation.
Nate Bolduc scored a team-high four goals for the Cougars, while Cyr had three nets and three assists.
Luke McParlin chalked up the game-high offensive performance with five goals and an assist for the Eagles (7-4).
